2.1 Data Stored Locally (on your device)
- Learning progress (completed investigations, scores, current level)
- App preferences (language, theme settings)
- SQL query history (for your reference within the app)
This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly enable cloud sync.
2.2 Data Collected with Cloud Sync (optional)
If you choose to create an account, the following data is stored on our servers:
- Email address (for account identification)
- Learning progress (to sync across devices)
- Account creation date
2.3 Data We Do NOT Collect
- Location data
- Contacts
- Photos, camera, or microphone access
- Advertising identifiers
- Browsing history outside the app
3. Advertising
SQLQuest does not display any advertisements. The app is free and does not rely on ad revenue. We do not share any data with advertising networks.
4. Third-Party Services
- Supabase (only if you create an account): Used for authentication and cloud data storage. Data is hosted in EU data centers. Supabase Privacy Policy

- PostHog (optional): Anonymous analytics to improve the app experience. Can be disabled in app settings. No personal data is collected. PostHog Privacy Policy
5. Your Rights (GDPR)
Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have the following rights:
- Right of access: Request a copy of your personal data
- Right to rectification: Correct inaccurate personal data
- Right to erasure: Request deletion of your personal data
- Right to portability: Receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format
- Right to object: Object to the processing of your personal data

6. Cookies
The SQLQuest website uses only essential cookies required for the website to function properly (session management). We do not use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or third-party analytics cookies on this website.

- Local data: Retained on your device until you uninstall the app or clear app data
- Account data: Retained as long as your account is active. Deleted within 30 days of account deletion request
- Analytics data: Anonymized and aggregated, retained for up to 12 months
8. Security
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data, including:
- Encryption of data in transit (TLS/HTTPS)
- Encryption of data at rest
- Regular security audits
- Principle of minimal data collection
- Access controls and authentication
9. Children's Privacy
SQLQuest is suitable for all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided personal data through account creation, please contact us to have it removed.
