App Privacy Policy

Data Stored Locally

SQLQuest stores the following data exclusively on your device:

• Learning progress and scores
• App preferences (language, theme)
• SQL query history
• Investigation completion status

This data is stored using the device's local storage and is not transmitted to any server unless you explicitly enable cloud sync by creating an account.

Permissions Requested

SQLQuest requests only the following permission:

• Network access: Required only for optional cloud sync and app updates

Permissions NOT requested

SQLQuest does not request or use:

• Camera
• Microphone
• Contacts
• Location
• Photos / Media library
• Bluetooth
• Calendar
• Phone / SMS

Analytics

SQLQuest uses PostHog for anonymous, privacy-friendly analytics. This helps us understand how features are used and improve the app experience.

• Analytics are fully optional and can be disabled in app settings
• No personal data (name, email, location) is collected through analytics
• No advertising identifiers are used
• Data is anonymized and cannot be linked to individual users

Cloud Sync (Optional)

If you choose to create an account for cloud sync:

• Your email address and learning progress are stored on Supabase (EU-hosted servers)
• Data is encrypted in transit and at rest
• You can delete your account and all associated data at any time

Children's Privacy

SQLQuest is designed to be suitable for learners of all ages. The app does not collect personal information from users under 16. Account creation (the only feature requiring personal data) is optional and requires an email address.

GDPR Compliance
